<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate optimum recording power highly accurately on the basis of the change of modulation degree. <P>SOLUTION: Relation of recording power and modulation degree in standard drive is made a reference modulation degree change property 100, an upper limit modulation degree change property 200 and a lower limit modulation degree variation property 300 are calculated from power margin in which recording quality can be secured and an allowable range is set. When modulation degree change obtained by test-writing of test data in actual drive is included in the allowable range, optimum recording power is calculated from the modulation degree change as it is. When modulation degree change is not included in the allowable range, it is made to be included in the allowable range by increasing/decreasing adjustment of multi-pulse width of a recording strategy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
