<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of preventing degradation of discharge capacity by trapping manganese ions eluted from lithium manganate by active carbon, alumina or active alumina before reaching a negative electrode. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode 1 using a positive electrode active material mainly containing lithium manganate. The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is structured such that at least one kind within a group comprising active carbon, alumina and active alumina is attached to surfaces of lithium manganate particles, or the surface of a positive electrode active material mix 1b of the positive electrode 1 is coated with an ion-permeable coat material containing at least one kind within a group comprising active carbon, alumina and active alumina. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
