<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein deterioration in the continuity of an output image differs greatly according to 1/(integer) or 1/(non-integer), when converting the resolution of an image. <P>SOLUTION: A bilinear processor 11 generates the image data of one pixel of the output image from the image data of a plurality of pixels of an input image by bilinear method. An area average 12 generates the image data of one pixel of the output image from the image data of the plurality of pixels of the input image by an area averaging method. A resolution transformation setting section 15 controls the operation of a change-over switch 13 so that the output of the bilinear processor 11 is selected, and that the output of the area average 12 is selected, when the resolution of the output image to that of the input image is 1/(integer) and 1/(non-integer), respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
