PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote reduction of thermal stress on a target anode surface while keeping sufficient performance of an X-ray source in an X-ray tube or the like. SOLUTION: In one example, a focal track region 312 of an X-ray anode 306 is etched by an electrochemical formula. In another example, the X-ray anode 306 contains a focal track region 312 which is thermally compliant in order to form an X-ray source 14 by an electron incident from an X-ray cathode 308.
