PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel (PDP) drive circuit which lowers the breakdown voltage of the back-flow prevention diode and the protection diode in the power recovery circuit while reducing the mounting areas and improves the power recovery efficiency. SOLUTION: The PDP drive circuit has a power recovery section 50 which resonates with the PDP10, i.e. a capacitive load Cp to recover power from it to reuse. The power recovery section 50 has recover inductors L1, L2 resonating with the capacitive load, recovery switches Q3, Q4 connecting the recovery capacitor Cr to the capacitive load and the recovery inductor to form a circuit to pass the resonant current, back-flow prevention diodes D3, D4 to prevent the current running through the recovery switch in the reverse polarity direction, and protection diodes D5, D6 to form a closed current circuit including the recover inductors and the recover switches when the back-flow prevention diodes D3, D4 turn from on to off.
