PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for working the surface of a core insert which can form a fine transfer pattern on each surface of a plurality of the core inserts all at once and can hardly develop a trouble in the formed transfer pattern. SOLUTION: A plurality of the core inserts are held by the holding fixture for surface working which can hold the core inserts in the way the surface of each core insert is almost flush with the surface of the holding fixture (step S1). Next, the transfer pattern is formed on the surface of each core insert by forming a specified fine transfer pattern (step S2), and thereafter, the core inserts with the transfer pattern are unloaded from the holding fixture (step S3).
