<p>An improved security system for a key operated lock has a security code applied to the key and red by a scanner inside the lock. The security code comprises a short-term luminescent function, typically not longer than one second, which is illuminated by a flash source inside the lock and is extinguished before the key is removed from the lock. The system is powered by a rechargeable battery or capacitor, linked to a mains supply or it can be charged by a dynamo action linked to the door handle.</p> |
