An electro-optical apparatus and an electronic appliance are provided to control the electro-optical device such as an organic light emitting diode by using the reference current and the corrected current. An electro-optical apparatus includes a voltage generator, the first signal processing circuit, the second signal processing circuit, the first current source, the second current source, and an electro-optical device. The voltage generator generates the second voltage different from the first voltage. The first signal processing circuit selectively outputs the high voltage or the low voltage according to a data signal having one of at least three levels. The second signal processing circuit selectively outputs the second high voltage different from the first high voltage and the second lower voltage different from the first low voltage. The first current source generates reference current(I1) corresponding to the output of the first signal processing circuit and the first voltage. The second current source generates corrected current(I2) corresponding to the output of the second signal processing circuit and the second voltage. The electro-optical device(E) has the gray scale according to the reference current(I1) and the corrected current(I2).
