METHOD FOR SELECTING ITEMS AND TERMINAL THEREFOR

An item selection method and a terminal therefor are provided to enable a user to select and execute various icons displayed on a touch screen easily even though the user does not have a stylus pen in the terminal equipped with the touch screen. A cursor is formed on a touch screen(S310,S320). If a user moves along a predetermined trace while touching on the touch screen, the cursor moves along the trace(S330,S340). The cursor reaches an item, so that the item is selected(S350-S370). When the cursor is formed on the touch screen, the cursor is formed if the user touches on the touch screen. The cursor is formed by being separated in certain direction at certain preset intervals from a contact position on the touch screen touched by the user.
