A controlling method of an edge dam load in a twin roll strip caster is provided to reduce the wear of edge dams and prevent molten steel from flowing into a space between rolls and the edge dams at the same time by controlling load and wear rate of the edge dams more efficiently. A controlling method of an edge dam load in a twin roll strip caster comprises the steps of: filtering a pressure feedback by pressure sensors(340) attached to respective loading cylinders(380) of edge dams, and filtering a distance measured by a position sensor(491) at the same time; comparing the filtered positions of the edge dam loading cylinders with a target position value according to a target wear rate; outputting a load trim of a positive number value or a negative number value according as the positions of the edge dam cylinders are greater than or less than the target position in the comparison step; additionally applying the output load trim to an initial target load to output a final target load; and applying the output final target load to the edge dam loading cylinders, wherein in the comparison step, the target wear rate is a wear rate of the edge dams worn out while rotating the rolls to a unit distance, and the wear rate of the edge dams worn out while circumferences of the rolls are rotated to 1 m is 0.1 to 10 mum.
