<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image fixing device capable of detecting the winding of a fixing unit without deteriorating the quality of a fixed image, operability in jamming disposal and visibility nor influencing the life of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The image fixing device 40 has: a rotating body 41a to perform the fixing of recording material on which a toner image is formed; a pressure rotating body 41b to form a nip part while press-contacting with the rotating body; a rotating and driving means 47 to drive to rotate the rotating body and the pressure rotating body; an attachment/detachment driving means 46 to make the rotating body and the pressure rotating body contact with/separate from each other; and a driving force detecting means to detect the driving force of the rotating and driving means, and fixes the image on the recording material while holding and conveying the recording material in a nip part. The image fixing device 40 has a winding detecting means to detect the recording material in the fixing device according to rotational driving force detected by the driving force detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
