<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, inexpensive image forming apparatus by using a common power source, thereby reducing the number of power sources incorporated in the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an image in such a manner that a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor drum and primarily transferred to an intermediate transfer belt is secondarily transferred to recording paper conveyed while held between the intermediate transfer belt and a transfer roller 17 and, then, the transferred toner image is heated and pressed by a pair of fixing rollers, thereby fixing the toner image to the recording paper. In the image forming apparatus, the constant current bias of a secondary transfer bias is applied by connecting a constant current power source 61 to the roller shaft 17b of the transfer roller so that electricity is conducted. On the other hand, a constant voltage bias is applied by bringing an electrode 65, connected to the constant voltage power source 62 for fixing, into contact with the roller shaft by the contact of the transfer roller with the intermediate transfer belt and the separation of the transfer roller from the belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
