<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus for switching contents to viewable contents in a low load under a prescribed condition. <P>SOLUTION: When an urgent warning signal exists in received television broadcasting data, a TV tuner unit 118 supplies an interruption signal to a CPU 101. When the remaining amount of a battery is reduced to a prescribed amount or less during battery driving, an EC/KBC 113 supplies an interruption signal to the CPU 101.
