<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical apparatus and a catheter for removing the intravascular foreign matters which can surely capture and remove intravascular foreign matters. <P>SOLUTION: The medical apparatus 9 comprises: a wire 7 for removing the intravascular foreign matters, which has a wire main body and a catching part 72 provided on the distal end side of the wire main body for capturing an embolic object 200 inside a blood vessel 10; and the catheter 1A into which the wire 7 can be inserted. The medical apparatus 9 is used by being inserted into the blood vessel 100 in the state of inserting the wire 7 into the catheter 1A. The catheter 1A comprises: a catheter main body 2A having a lumen opened at the distal end; and a deformation part 3A provided on the distal end part of the catheter main body 2A to be deformed so as to expand the opening 211 at the distal end of the lumen. The deformation part 3A has an actuator provided with an electroactive polymer to be deformed by being energized and an electrode for energizing the electroactive polymer and operated so as to expand the edge part of the opening 211 at the distal end by energizing the electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
