<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive apparatus with a motor clearance as small as possible having an air-tight sealing separation between a rotor part and a stator part of a motor. <P>SOLUTION: The drive apparatus for the vacuum pump 1 consists of the motor stator, the motor rotor and a separation element between the motor stator and the motor rotor having an inside and an outside. To reduce the motor clearance, the separation element 9 includes a co-axial separation sleeve in a cylinder shape which is supported in at least two guide faces provided with an interval in an axial direction and is centered.
