PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging control program which can report what a user needs out of an imaging possible number calculated based on a free space of an image recording means and a remaining amount of a battery. SOLUTION: If a mode switch 20 detects that the operation mode is switched to a still picture imaging mode, a CPU 50 acquires setting information of a calculation standard of the imaging possible sheet number (Step S10). When the calculation standard of the imaging possible sheet number is set to "Media" (Yes in the step S10); the CPU 50 calculates the imaging possible sheet number of still pictures (Step S12) based on a free space of a recording medium 74, and makes a liquid crystal monitor 18 display it (Step S14). On the other hand, when the calculation standard of the imaging possible sheet number is set to "Battery" (Yes in the Step S10); the CPU 50 calculates the imaging possible sheet number of the still pictures (Step S16) based on the remaining amount of the battery 58, and makes the liquid crystal monitor 18 display it (Step S14).
