PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell selection device capable of suitably selecting an objective cell from cells in blood. SOLUTION: The cell selection device is composed of an external circulation system 10 to extract blood from an examinee and circulating outside the body, a cell measuring part 20 to apply measuring light to the cells in the blood and optically determining cell information on the physical properties relating to the volume of the cell or the nucleus of the cell, and a cell separation part 30 to separate a cell with reference to the determined cell information. The cell separation part 30 separates a cell when the cell satisfies a selection condition based on the cell information determined by the cell measuring part 20 and a selection condition set to select a specific kind of cell such as cancer cell, and returns the other cells into the body through the external circulation system 10.
