PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical road sweeper capable of collecting dust swept up in the air without dropping it on a road surface even when the road aweeper runs at higher speed and achieving highly efficient cleaning. SOLUTION: A sweeping-up brush 11 coming into contact with the road surface and sweeping up the dust on the road surface is provided at a backward position in the direction of advance of the vehicle more than an air suction port 21 in a suction hood 30 so as to rotate in the direction for sweeping up the dust onto an air suction port 21 side. An L-shaped partitioning plate 17 formed by bending it backward and horizontally or downward in an inclined manner after it is suspended downward is fixed to a position being slightly forward than the air suction port 21. The air suction port 21 faces a bent part (functioning as a bottom wall) of the partitioning plate 17 to form a space on the bottom wall as an air suction chamber Q and suck the air in the air suction chamber Q together with the dust into a hopper 3 through the air suction port 21.
