SEISMIC CONTROL STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic control structure in which a seismic control action can be effectively exerted on either of rapid and slow quakes. SOLUTION: This seismic control structure 10 comprises: a pair of horizontal shaft materials 11 and 12 which are provided in the state of being elongated in parallel at a vertical interval; a vertical shaft material 13 which is provided in such a manner as to connect the pair of horizontal shaft materials 11 and 12 together; an upside transmission member 14 which is composed of a rigid material and provided in such a manner as to be elongated downward in the state of being connected to the upside horizontal shaft material 11; a downside transmission member 17 which is composed of a rigid material and provided in such a manner as to be elongated upward in the state of being connected to the downside horizontal shaft material 12; and a viscoelastic damper 20 which is interposed between the upside and downside transmission members 14 and 17. The viscoelastic damper is formed of a rubber composition in which 100-150 pts.mass silica with respect to 100 pts.mass of a base rubber, and a silane compound equivalent to 10-30 pts.mass of the silica are added to a base rubber composed of a polymer having a main chain with a C-C bond, and crosslinked.
