PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a hydraulic oil tank against heat dissipated from a muffler by a structure advantageous with respect to space, cost, and performance despite the fact that the hydraulic oil tank is disposed in proximity to the muffler. SOLUTION: In this construction machine, devices such as an engine 18, a hydraulic pump 21, a hydraulic oil tank 19, and a muffler 20 are contained in at the rear part of the upper frame of an upper rotating body. The hydraulic oil tank 19 and the muffler 20 are disposed in proximity to each other. A heat shielding plate 25 for shielding the transmission of heat between the hydraulic oil tank 19 and the muffler 20 is so installed that an air layer 26 can be formed between the hydraulic tank 19 and itself. An oil stopping part 25a is fitted to the heat shielding plate 25 so that the oil leaking from a pump connection pipe does not adhere to the muffler 20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
