PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod body for a spinning rod, which can easily and more clearly make to outstand the butt end of a reinforcing pattern than those of conventional reinforcing patterns, when the reinforcing pattern is disposed, and can reduce a difference in level. SOLUTION: A reinforcing pattern 3 comprising a cloth prepreg and disposed in a glass fiber g-crossing state, and a main pattern 4 comprising a paralleled prepreg which is longer than the reinforcing pattern in the rod axial line direction and is prepared by paralleling carbon fibers c in one direction are arranged in a state that the reinforcing pattern 3 is placed in the ferrule portion, and the main pattern 4 is placed on the butt side of the reinforcing pattern 3. The reinforcing pattern 3 is formed in an extended portion 3A in a thin shape that the width L of the rod butt side end portion of the reinforcing pattern 3 along the circumference direction is reduced toward the butt side.
