A Cellulose acylate film, in which X-ray diffraction intensity satisfies following formulae and a half-value width of the peak at 2theta<SUB>2 </SUB>is 3° or less: <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>0.40<=Ic/(Iam+Ic)<=0.85; <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>Iam=I<SUB>1</SUB>+((I<SUB>3</SUB>-I<SUB>1</SUB>)/(2theta<SUB>3</SUB>-2theta<SUB>1</SUB>)x(2theta<SUB>2</SUB>-2theta<SUB>1</SUB>)}; and <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?>Ic=I<SUB>2</SUB>-Iam, <?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?> wherein when it is assumed that 8 is the Bragg angle, 2theta<SUB>1 </SUB>and 2theta<SUB>3 </SUB>indicate 2theta at which the intensity becomes the minimum in the 2theta range of 4° to 5° and 14° to 16°, respectively, 2theta<SUB>2 </SUB>indicates 2theta at which the intensity becomes the maximum in the 2theta range of 5° to 10°, and I<SUB>1</SUB>, I<SUB>2 </SUB>and I<SUB>3 </SUB>indicate a diffractive intensity at 2theta<SUB>1</SUB>, 2theta<SUB>2 </SUB>and 2theta<SUB>3</SUB>, respectively.
