PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a roof having excellent soundproofing performance and heat insulating performance and quickly and easily perform a roof forming operation. SOLUTION: When a sheet metal 10 is placed on a sheathing surface 4, a foam resin sheet 20 flexible and having a predetermined width dimension is placed on the sheathing surface 4 on the upper side of the sheet 10 in the roof gradient direction. A next sheet metal 10 is so placed on the sheathing surface that its upper lock part 12 is locked to the lower seam 11 of the lower sheet metal 10 and the foam resin sheet 20 is interposed between the rear surface of the next sheet metal 10 and the sheathing surface 4. The foam resin sheet 20 is so formed that its lateral dimension can store it between the upper seam 12 and the seam 11, can be transported in a wound state, and can be cut out at arbitrary positions.
