PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment capable of performing communication even if a data format is different. SOLUTION: The communication equipment is provided with: a communication part 3 for performing communication with other equipment through a public line, a LAN, infrared communication, or the like; a resource information storing part 5 for storing what format for data can be handled by the equipment; a storing part 6 for storing data for performing communication; a data converting part 7 for converting data so that the opposite communication party can interpret the data; a conversion table 8 for storing whether the currently held data can be converted into a form that can be interpreted by the opposite communication party; a converting means storing part 9 for storing an actual converting means; and a negotiation part 10 for recognizing what resource information of the opposite device is.
