PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store and record an image preferred by a user by photographing each of a plurality of subject under a focusing and exposure optimum to each subject. SOLUTION: A subject is photographed to generate image data, and a prescribed target is detected from the image data. An exposure condition and a focal position are determined for every detected prescribed target. Then the respective targets are photographed according to the exposure condition and focal position determined for every detected prescribed target in response to one photographing operation, and image data of respective targets generated by the photographing are stored. Moreover, the image data is displayed on a monitor or the like, and image data corresponding to an image selected by the user is stored and recorded as the image to be stored and recorded.
