PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-burning property even with pulverized coal of low volatility coal. SOLUTION: The burner device for pulverized coal is provided with a first jetting part 1 linearly or spirally jetting out primary combustion air A1 along with the pulverized coal B, and a second jetting part 2 jetting out secondary combustion air A2 so as to swirl around the primary combustion air A1 jetted out from the first jetting part 1. The pulverized coal B is ignited to form flame. A mixing suppressing means 31 is provided for suppressing mixing of the primary combustion air A1 and the secondary combustion air A2 before the pulverized coal B is ignited.
