PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing piperidine derivatives, 4-ä4-[4-(hydroxydiphenyl)-1-piperidinyl]-1-hydroxybutyl}-α,α-dimethylphenylacetic acid and 4-ä4-[4-(diphenylmethoxy)-1-piperidinyl]-1-oxobutyl}-α,α-dimethylphenylacetic acid by using a microorganism catalyst. SOLUTION: Following microorganisms having ability to oxidize a precursor of an objective material, Streptomyces rimosus, Stemphylium consortiale, Gliocladium deliquescens and the like are provided.
