A method for providing information to a mobile terminal according to an access time appointed by an information provider server is provided to prevent a waste of communication networks which is generated by periodically pushing SMS messages containing the URL of an information provider server to mobile terminals. An SMS processing part in an information provider server creates an SMS message containing access time information and the URL of the information provider server, and transmits it to an SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(ST13). The SMSC transmits the received SMS message to a mobile terminal through a mobile communication network(ST14). The mobile terminal, receiving the SMS message, attempts wireless Internet access to the information provider server through a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) G/W(Gateway) when the access time comes, and requests the information provider server to provide information(ST16). The information provider server extracts necessary information from an information DB, and transmits it to the mobile terminal through a WAP server(ST17).
