Brewing device for the brewing of a capsule containing beverage ingredien ts comprising: a frame (2), a first and second capsule enclosing members (7, 8) for at least partially enclosing the capsule (9) during brewing; wherein the first enclosing member (7) is mobile along the frame in relation to the second enclosing member (8); a closing mechanism to actuate the first enclo sing member comprising an actuation member; a capsule holding member (10) fo r receiving the capsule during insertion of the capsule between the first an d second enclosing members and for holding it in place during closing of the enclosing members.
