POINTING DEVICE, POINTER MOVEMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISPLAYING THE POINTER

A pointing device, a pointer movement method and a display for displaying a pointer are provided to move consistently the pointer on the screen of the display positioned at a remote plate even if a user holds and moves the pointing device at any positions. An angular velocity sensing module(110) senses a first angular velocity, a second angular velocity, and a third angular velocity which are rotated around three different axes according to the movement of a housing. An acceleration sensing module(112) senses acceleration according to the movement. A position computing module(114) computes information about the position of the housing by using the sensed acceleration information. A signal converting module(116) converts separately the first angular velocity, the second angular velocity, and the third angular velocity into angular velocity in a display coordinate system by using the position information. A pointer coordinates computing module(118) computes and provides the coordinates of a pointer displayed in a display by using the converted angular velocity information.
