<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample preparation method capable of carrying out a two-dimensional mass spectrographic imaging operation, using high spatial resolution. <P>SOLUTION: In a sample plate 1, a hydrophobic film layer 7 is formed on a hydrophilic film layer 6, and a recess 3, having a minute diameter, is formed in the hydrophobic film layer 7 such that the hydrophilic film layer 6 is exposed to its bottom surface. When a matrix is applied to the surface of the sample plate 1, the matrix 8 is repelled on the hydrophobic film layer 7 and agglomerated in the recess 3 on the hydrophilic film layer 6. A minute amount of matrix can be made to array at a high density. When a sample is pressed against the sample plate 1 and peeled therefrom, the object substance to be analyzed of the sample surface is taken into the matrix 8 in the recess 3, as it is, while its positional information is kept within a range where the sample is closely-attached, whereby the minute crystal particles containing the object substance to be analyzed are formed, after drying operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
