PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembled commutator and a manufacturing method therefor wherein multiple commutator pieces can be firmly disposed and fixed on the outer circumferential surface of an insulating substrate. SOLUTION: Multiple commutator pieces 21 having a riser portion 22 are disposed and fixed on the outer circumferential surface of the insulating substrate 10 formed in a cylindrical shape with a slit 23 provided between the individual commutator pieces 21. Washers 30 are fit onto the periphery of the commutator pieces 21 to press and fix them against the outer circumferential surface of the insulating substrate 10. In a flange portion 12 provided at the base end of the insulating substrate 10, there are formed grooves 15 for fitting the base parts of the riser portions 22. A protrusion 14a protruded toward the riser portion 22 is formed on the opening side of each groove 15, and the protrusions 14a are swelled toward the grooves 15 by plastic deformation to fix the base parts of the riser portions 22 in the grooves 15. When fit, the washers 30 cover the swelled portions 15a and press the commutator pieces 21 against the insulating substrate 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
