<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to suppress a used capacity of a storage device by storing only one piece of the same image data even for various kinds of jobs and deleting the other pieces of the data. <P>SOLUTION: A feature quantity extraction section 202 of an image searching server 108 extracts a feature quantity for similar image searching as to all stored image data and associates the extracted feature quantity with source image data. A job type comparison section 203 compares kinds of jobs among all the image data, and a feature quantity comparison section 204 compares all feature quantities extracted by the feature quantity extraction section 202 depending on a results of the comparison by the job type comparison section 203. When an image data deletion decision section 205 decides that the image data corresponding to the feature quantity are equal to each other, an image data deletion section 206 deletes the image data of the comparison destination and stores link information to the image data of the comparison source. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
