<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball which achieves excellent performance levels in yardage, aerodynamic symmetry, spinning performance, spin stability, anti-scratching performance and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball 2 has an inner sphere, an outer layer, an inner layer and a cover. The thickness Tc of the cover is 1.0 mm or less, the hardness Hc of the cover is 20 or more to 50 or less. The north hemisphere N and the south hemisphere S of the surface of the golf ball 2 has a near-pole area 28, a near-equator area 30 and an adjustment area 32 respectively. A dimple pattern on the near-pole area 28 consists of a plurality of units made rotationally symmetrical to each other centered on the pole point P. The dimple pattern on the near-equator area 30 consists of a plurality of units made rotationally symmetrical to each other centered on the pole point P. The number of the units in the near-pole area 28 is different from the number of the units in the near-equator area 30.
