PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor suitably utilizable as a blue phosphor in various fields, especially for a self-emission type image display such as FED and PDP. SOLUTION: The phosphor, of which the variation amount of y value of CIE chromaticity to unit charged electric charge is dy/dQ≤0.0001 and the y value of CIE chromaticity is in the range of y≤0.080, is obtained by applying a stimulating treatment by irradiating, with an active energy ray, a phosphor shown by general formula (1): M1<SB>x</SB>M2<SB>2-x</SB>Si<SB>2</SB>O<SB>6</SB>Ra<SB>z</SB>, wherein M1 and M2 are each an alkaline earth metal, x is x<2, Ra is Ce or Eu, and z is 0.005≤z≤0.05.
