A method for setting photographing information of a camera in a portable terminal is provided to compensate the photographing information of the camera automatically according to time and season when photographing, thus users unfamiliar with technical knowledge can simply take best-quality pictures. Location information and time information of a portable terminal are decided on(S201-S205). The location information is transmitted to a weather information supply server, and weather information corresponding to the location information is received from the server(S207,S209). Camera photographing information in accordance with the weather information and the time information is extracted from a storage(S211). The extracted photographing information is applied to a camera, so that the applied information is displayed on a screen(S213).
