A method for operating a dryer of a self-service laundry is provided to prevent damage of the laundry and to reduce energy consumption by judging the state of the laundry and differently drying the laundry in accordance with humidity of the laundry. A method for operating a dryer of a self-service laundry comprises the steps: judging the state of the laundry by measuring humidity(S41); and modifying or maintaining or re-setting the time for supplying hot blast, according to the detected state of the laundry(S56, S54, S55, S51). The dryer has a charge collecting machine. The dryer supplies hot blast to the laundry for predetermined time according to the set dry course.
