An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to induce AC(Alternating Current) high-voltage static electricity to a static electricity preventing sub-electrode and/or a static electricity preventing sub-line, thereby intercepting the AC high-voltage static electricity applied to the DL and gate line of a display area by flowing the AC high-voltage static electricity into a CL. A gate line and a DL(Data Line) cross each other in a display area. A gate pad and a data pad are formed in the end of the gate line and the DL extended to a non-display area positioned at the outline of the display area. A CL(Common Line) is formed in the non-display area and between the gate line and the gate pad, and between the DL and the data pad. A static electricity preventing device(108) is formed in the non-display area and connected between the gate pad and the CL and between the data pad and the CL. A static electricity preventing sub-electrode(105) is formed in the non-display area and is projected from the static electricity preventing device to the gate line and the DL.
