<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device for wire discharge machining capable of easily detecting a workpiece having the possibility of lowering of machining shape accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: This monitoring device 1 decides whether or not a liquid temperature of machining liquid 21 detected by a liquid temperature sensor 60 is in a prescribed temperature range set in advance and displays the decision result on a display 3. Whether or not temperature dimension change amount of a supporting arm 31 affecting the machining shape accuracy of the workpiece 90 therefore is in an allowable range can be known.
