<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and method which can achieve an excellent transfer even when using toner containing 40% or more of fine inorganic particles excellent in cold temperature fixedness in additive ratio X. <P>SOLUTION: When A represents the diameter of the photoreceptor 40, B the diameter of the biasing roller, i.e. intermediate transfer roller 62, and C the thickness of the intermediate transfer belt 10, the intermediate transfer roller 62 is arranged in a manner that the distance L from the photoreceptor shaft center to the intermediate transfer roller shaft center satisfies L>(A/2)+(B/2)+C on the virtual plane orthogonal to the axis of the photoreceptor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
