PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same capable of repairing a defective amount of liquid crystal by forming a hole in a liquid crystal cell and, thereafter, regulating the amount of liquid crystal via the hole even when an unfilled or overfilled region of liquid crystal is produced because of an inaccurate amount of dropped liquid crystal and capable of preventing foreign matter which may be produced upon the formation of an inlet from permeating the inside of the liquid crystal cell by forming the inlet of the liquid crystal while applying a pressure to the liquid crystal cell. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device comprises: a process of preparing a liquid crystal cell provided with a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer formed between both substrates and the seal material which is formed to surround the liquid crystal layer between both the substrates; a process of applying a first pressure to a liquid crystal cell; a process of forming the inlet for inflow and outflow of the liquid crystal in the liquid crystal cell while applying the first pressure; a process of regulating the amount of liquid crystal via the inlet; and a process of sealing the inlet.
