PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator control system capable of rewriting an operation control program at optional timing. SOLUTION: The elevator control system comprises a plurality of control devices 2, 3, 4 dispersedly arranged at respective parts of an elevator and carrying out control on the operation of the elevator according to a predetermined operation control program; a transmission line 8 connecting the plurality of control devices and carrying out intercommunication of data among the plurality of control devices during the operation of the elevator; program providing means 5, 7 providing operation control programs for updating to the elevator having the plurality of control devices, from the outside; and a program transmitting means 1 having a storage means 15 temporarily storing the operation control programs for updating provided from the program providing means, and transmitting the stored operation control program for updating to the control device to be updated through the transmission line when predetermined updating conditions are established.
