The invention relates to a device for detecting an attempt to access a vehicle (1) which is accessible by opening a lockable door (9). Said device comprises detection means (5) which are designed to scan for the presence or action of a user who wishes to access the vehicle, with a certain frequency, said detection means being connected to electrical supply means (17). The inventive device is characterised in that timed reactive means (19, 19a) are designed in such a way as to act on the scanning frequency of the detection means (5) in order to be able to reduce the scanning frequency, without stopping it completely, if the detection means are in a degraded mode as opposed to a fully operational mode wherein the scanning frequency is higher. The invention also relates to a vehicle provided with such a device.
