An alkali developer for a photosensitive resin, a method for forming an image by using the alkali developer, a method for preparing a color filter, a color filter prepared by the method, and a display device containing the color filter are provided to reduce the amount of residue after development and to improve the quality of image. An alkali developer for a photosensitive resin comprises a carbonate; and an anionic surfactant, wherein the carbonate comprises a sodium salt and/or a potassium salt and has a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mol/kg; and the anionic surfactant comprises a naphthalene sulfonic acid salt and a polyoxyethylene naphthyl ether sulfate salt. The content of the polyoxyethylene naphthyl ether sulfate salt is 20-60 wt% based on the total amount of the anionic surfactant.
