<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection system, apparatus and method for making it possible to inspect printing results with high accuracy even in the case of print outputs using preprinting paper. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 101 requests a print output part 103 to print electronic master data in a predetermined format and the data is stored in a data storage part 203 at the same time. The print output part 103 prints the electronic master data on preprinting paper, and an accuracy information detecting part 104 detects positioning accuracy information. Based on the positioning accuracy information and the electronic master data, a mask data creating part 201 creates mask data that designates an enabling area indicating the effective range of the subject of inspection, and image data read by a reading part 105 is masked with mask data by a masking part 202.
