In a spindle-mounted plate-type rectifier, the rectifier plates 3 are spaced from each other and from the spindle 1 by insulating washers 2 interlocking with each other. The projections 2b and recesses 2a in the washers and the central holes in the rectifier plates are preferably square. Electrical contact between the rectifier plates 3 is effected by flexible brass discs 4, each in the form of a saucer with a central hole, which are clamped in pairs between alternate pairs of washers 2.
