PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary operation type electronic component used for adjusting the volume and tone of various AV apparatuses, capable of surely preventing an operation shaft from slipping off, having good assembling workability, and reducing work man-hours. SOLUTION: A through hole 23C having the same shape as the projected area of an actuating part 21B having an almost rectangular horizontal cross-section is provided in a rotator 23 so that the lower part of an operation shaft 21 under its first step part 21E can be smoothly inserted, and a depression 23E opened downward while having the same shape as the through hole 23C is provided perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the rectangle of the through hole 23C. When the operation shaft 21 inserted in the through hole 23C is rotated by 90 degrees and pulled up, the actuating part 21B is engaged and combined with the depression 23E.
