The invention relates to an aeration and bleed valve of simple design using membrane technology, in particular for the aeration and bleeding of small plants and systems for gas/liquid equilibration of pressure/temperature differences in two chambers, in particular valves for heating systems, carrying out the functions/modes of operation, pressure checking, facilitating filling and emptying processes and automatic bleeding. The valve essentially comprises a cylindrical arrangement and has no moving parts. The membrane element for (22) forms the connection between the liquid filled interior of the heating system and the exterior, gases being able to form in the interior as a result of changing temperature and/or pressure which adversely affect the working and operation of the plant. Semipermeable membranes, depending on design, retain liquids or are impermeable thereto and permit the escape of gaseous media.
