A steam and vacuum cleaner is provided to lower height of a base assembly, to reduce noise, and to improve durability of a dust by forming a duct mounting groove on the upper surface of a water box. A steam and vacuum cleaner includes a base assembly, a main assembly, and a neck assembly. The base assembly includes a floor plate having a front part formed with a sucking nozzle, and a rear part formed with a steam injecting hole, and a cover covering the upper surface of the floor plate. The floor plate is mounted with a steam generating unit coupled with the steam injecting hole. The cover is installed with a duct coupling the sucking nozzle with the dust box. The duct is placed above the steam generating unit. A mounting groove is formed on the upper surface of the water box to mount the duct. The motor is a wet type motor. An elliptic casing(830) is installed on an outer peripheral surface of the impeller part.
