A method for controlling the size of populations of sawflies (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae) includes determining the species composition of the pests, monitoring thereof and directed action at proper stages of the development of the pests. In the egg-laying period of the sawflies settling the Trichogramma (Trichogramma embriophagum Hart.) into agrocenoses is carried out in three steps, in particular at the beginning, in the period of mass egg-laying and in seven days after the second settling with a consumption rate of correspondingly 50, 100 and 50 females per one brush, double settling of the parasite Dibrachys (Dibrachys cavus Walker.) is carried out as well with a consumption rate by 20 females per one currant brush.
